Former Pakistani speedster Mohammad Amir came out in public to support Sarafaraz Ahmed after the latter hit back at Mohammad Hafeez over the ongoing debate on who is the number 1 wicketkeeper-batsman in the country.
It all started when Hafeez took to Twitter to praise Rizwan after the latter scored century in recently concluded first T20 against South Africa.
The wicketkeeper batsman played an unbeaten knock of 104 runs to help proteas by three runs in a thrilling match.
Riding on Rizwan’s knock that was studded with six fours and seven sixes, the hosts scored 169 for 6. In reply, South Africa ended their innings on 166 for 6.
Hafeez tweet on Rizwan after the latter fantastic performance irked Sarfaraz ahmed and Mohammad Amir where Hafeez wrote on his official Twitter handle “Congratulations @iMRizwanPak on scoring T20. U r a Star shining star Wonder how long u need to prove that u r NO1 wicketkeeper/Batsman in pakistan in all formats of the game. Just asking”
To which Sarfaraz replied “Hafeez bhai Sb, whoever has played for Pakistan from Imtiaz Ahmed, Wasim Bari, Tasleem Arif to Saleem Yousuf and from Moin Khan, Rashid Latif to Kamran Akmal and even Rizwan right now has always been number ONE for the country and have been respected accordingly”
