Soyuncu’s Agent Comments On Player’s Future

Caglar Soyuncu’s agent Mustafa Dogru has insisted that the player will be sticking with Leicester City amidst speculation linking him with a number of clubs including Manchester City. Soyuncu was given an opportunity to be one of the Foxes’ first-choice center-backs this season after Harry Maguire left the club during the summer transfer window and joined Manchester United.

Soyuncu has emerged as one of the stars of Brendan Rodgers side this season.

Caglar now focuses on the success of the team,” Dogru told Radyospor as quoted by Goal.com“A transfer is neither on his nor the club’s agenda.

“I don’t know what’s going on in the future, but he’s thinking about his achievements at Leicester City and with the national team.”

Soyuncu should not rush into a move

Rodgers is currently building an exciting project at Leicester. Many will argue that the current Foxes side are better than their team which managed to defy the odds and win the Premier League title during the 2015/16 season.

At 23-years-old, Soyuncu has not yet reached the peak of his career. He should focus on carrying on honing his craft before leaving to join a club which plays regularly in the Champions League. While he has shown plenty of potential, he still does have plenty of flaws in his game and the King Power Stadium is the right environment for him to iron out the problematic qualities in his game.

Leicester need to avoid becoming a “feeder club”

Leicester’s player recruitment is indeed perhaps one of the best in the League. Many people would have thought that their good results would have been impossible after N’Golo Kante, Riyadh Mahrez and Maguire left. However, they managed to carry on delivering positive results and went on with life.

Players from Rodgers squad that would have almost certainly attracted interest from rival clubs are Ben Chilwell, Soyuncu, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison. Rodgers needs to craft a plan in order to avoid losing the quartet all at once or his club could be restricted to “feeder club” status in a similar way to Southampton.
