Miguel Almiron Early Life

Miguel Almiron childhood

Miguel was born on 10th February 1994 to Sonia Almiron and Reburn Almiron in Asuncion, Paraguay. His father was a small-town security guard while his mother worked as a cashier in a supermarket. His parents’ financial conditions were very poor, they always struggled for money due to which Miguel never perceived proper education in his life. Miguel’s passion for football developed from his early childhood days, as he didn’t have many toys to play with; all he had was just a ball which he kicked, threw and shot most of the times. When Miguel turned seven, he began dreaming; he dreamt of having enough money to buy a bigger home for his family, he dreamt of having nice clothes, good food, and big space for him to play football.

To escape from poverty, a young Miguel started putting his strength and determination on football activities. He practiced football day-and-night in the patched upfield, around the slums of San Pablo barrio, Asuncion. The hard-bone pitch honed Miguel’s dribbling skills to another level, through which he decided his destiny. Miguel joined November 3 club, whose senior team had played in the Third Division of Paraguayan football. During his time at the club, he was always visited by his uncle Diego and sometimes his grandad Chelo to accompany him to practice.

But being accused of light weight, and someone who couldn’t grow big, he failed to become a part of the U-15 and U-16 level teams. In 2010, many academy players were getting dropped from the squads, and Miguel’s name was also on the list. With no hopes left, and every door seemingly closed; at a time when he was on the verge of being expelled by the club, his former coach Hernan Acuna stepped in offering him redemption. For Miguel, Hernan Acuna emerged as a guardian angel who helped him to graduate into the club’s first team.
