Mario Mandzukic is a Croatian professional Footballer who plays forward for the Serie A Club Juventus and the Croatia national team.
EARLY LIFE
Mario was born on 21st May 1986 in Slavonski, SR Croatia, Yugoslavia to mother Jalica Mandzukic and father Mato Mandzukic. After Mario was born his parents moved to Germany and started living there the reason was the Yugoslav war.
His family returned to Croatia after it got independence. Mario after his return enrolled himself at various youth clubs of Croatian Teams. Before moving into NK Zagreb in 2005 he played with Marsonia and Zeljeznicar Slavonski.

CLUB CAREER
Mandzukic joined Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2007 for a transfer of 1.3 million euros. He finished his first season with 12 goals, 11 assists and 11 yellow cards. He became the top goalscorer of the league with 16 goals. After completing his third season he joined Wolfsburg.
Playing along the Wolfsburg side he netted his first Bundesliga goal against FC Nurnberg. After he became the top goal scorer with 12 goals in his second season he became a regular starter.
He then moved to Bayern Munich on 26th June 2012 for a transfer fee of 13 million Euro. He netted his debut goal against Bejing Guoan in the Chinese Super League.
He finished his first season with Bayern becoming the club’s top scorer with 15 goals. With 20 goals and 43 appearances, he left the club to join the Serie A club Juventus on 22 June 2015 for a fee of 19 million Euro. He netted his first goal against Atalanta and second at the UEFA Champions League final in a 4-1 loss defending Champions Real Madrid.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER
Mandzukic was called for the Croatian national team following his ongoing brilliant performances with the Dynamos. He made his debut against Macedonia on 17th November 2007 and netted his debut goal in a 4-1 loss against England.
He was one of the crucial members of the Croatian national team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He became the second player in World History to score for both teams in a single match and the first to do so in final.
He netted an own goal and then netted a goal for the national team but lost their first-ever World Cup final by 4-2.
On 14th August 2018, he announced his retirement with an overall 33 goals in his entire international career.
CONTROVERSY
Mario made controversy when he was forced to apologize for what he did to a photographer after netting against England in the 2018 World Cup.
