Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been ruled out for the remaining four games of the season due to a knee injury, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.
Henderson was instrumental for Liverpool in the last match against Brighton where they defeated them 3-1. Sadly, he developed an injury in the last minute of the game.
Klopp said that England International should be fit again for the delayed start to 2020-21 season.
“It’s not cool but it’s the best we could get,” Klopp said on Friday.
“It was an awful moment when he went down and left the pitch,” added Klopp.
“Hendo is an animal, he fights with everything. So he can really deal well with pain. At this moment he knew something had happened. It was a complete mood killer.
“There’s no surgery needed, that’s the good news, and all the rest we can make our own decisions, but Hendo will lift the trophy,” Klopp concluded.
Liverpool ended a 30-year wait for the top spot to clinch the ongoing Premier League title and Klopp is assured that they might have lost their skipper for the remaining matches but that will not stop the red club to lift this year Premier League trophy after the club’s final home match against Chelsea on 22 July.
Jurgen Klopp, who is one of the best current football managers in the world, should be given equal credit for his coaching style and his ability to back his players under extreme situations.
