Former India and Pakistan cricketer Virender Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar who works in the media as an expert and also know for their outspoken nature recently hit out each other in the war of words.

It all started after Legendary batter Sehwag while taking to one of the interviews taken by Sanjay Manjrekar said that Pakistani pacer used to chuck his arm before bowling which made batters difficult to pick his deliveries.

He also added that Akhtar was also aware about his chucking thing and this is the biggest reason why ICC banned him once.

Akhtar responded back in a polite way where he said may be Sehwag knows more than ICC and I still believe that the latter is one of the greatest match winner India has ever produced.

He added that we should not pass statements like this as it will disturb the harmony between two neighbouring countries as political tension between two nations have been extremely poor in last 10 years.

“I would request Sehwag to not pass such comments. If Sehwag knows more than ICC, he is entitled to his opinion. My statement to Sehwag will be a bit different. I feel he was one of the greatest match-winners India has ever produced. He was a team man and among the greatest openers to have ever played for India,” Akhtar told Sportskeeda.

“At the moment, I am at that stage and age where I’m careful while dishing out my opinions. I don’t want to pass a comment or insult any player who has played on the national level. I haven’t seen the interview. Sehwag is a close friend but I don’t know if he has commented jokingly or if he is being serious,” he added.

“Cricketers should make sure their statements don’t disturb the harmony between India and Pakistan If there’s a scope for improvement in relations between the two countries, I should be able to play that bridge. I request Sehwag to be mindful while making such statements in the age of social media,” Akhtar concluded.
