Virat Kohli is currently the world’s biggest cricketer and whenever he comes to the field, some record is on his target. Even though Virat Kohli did not bat well in the first Test match against Bangladesh, he made history despite scoring 23 runs in both innings. In fact, in the second inning, Kohli’s 17-run inning helped him to complete 12000 runs at home. He became the second batsman in India to achieve this position after Sachin Tendulkar.
Virat Kohli may not have played a big inning in the first Test, but he can target many big records in the second test that will be played in Kanpur. If he scores 129 runs in the second Test, he will complete 9000 runs in Test cricket. He will be just the fourth Indian batsman to do so. Earlier Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have managed to touch this figure.

Virat Kohli eyes Sachin’s record
Virat Kohli will be eyeing Sachin Tendulkar’s big record. He is just 35 runs away from this record. If he manages to do so, he will become the first cricketer in the world to score 27 thousand runs in less than 600 innings in international cricket. This will be the first time in the 147-year history of Test cricket that a cricketer will touch a figure of 27000 runs in less than 600 innings. At the moment, the record for scoring the fastest 27000 runs is named after Sachin Tendulkar, who achieved this feat in 623 innings. Kohli has scored 26965 runs in 593 innings. So far, only three batsmen from all over the world have been able to score 27000 runs in international cricket. This includes Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting.
Don Bradman’s record in danger
Kohli will also have a chance to overtake Don Bradman in the Kanpur Test. If Kohli succeeds in scoring a century, he will overtake Bradman in terms of scoring a century in Test cricket. Bradman has 29 centuries in Test. Kohli can also break Sachin’s record as soon as he takes 3 catches in the second test. Sachin has recorded 115 catches while Virat caught 113 catches. Apart from this, Kohli will complete his 1000 fours in the Test if he hits 7 boundaries.
