Zaheer Khan suggests the only way to stop Suryakumar is by holding his bat and legs!

The simplest way to prevent Suryakumar Yadav when the batsman is on-song, according to former Indian bowler Zaheer Khan, is by trying to “hold his bat” or “hold his legs” from back.

The Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium on a muggy night on Tuesday thanks in large part to Suryakumar, who once more displayed his spectacular form by hammering 83 off 35 balls with a total of six sixes and seven fours. The win enabled MI to quickly climb into the top four in the IPL 2023 points standings.

After the match ended in favor of Mumbai Indians, Zaheer Khan appeared on Jio Cinema to break down the match as it happened and during the analysis, he mentioned Suryakumar Yadav. “They need to hold his bat from behind or hold his legs, he’s been batting like that. There was a tough phase but when he found his rhythm, the good became even better. This will never be good news for the bowlers.” – Zaheer Khan said.

The former Left-arm seamer has worked closely with Suryakumar Yadav during his time with Mumbai Indians mentioned the fact that he is a type of batter who will score against you regardless of any captain’s rigorous planning.

“The way he bats and the way he approaches it, no field placement can help them. Every time I see them play, it seems like the bowlers are trying to bowl outside the off-stump, pack the side with four players, and SKY is still hitting fours and you cannot stop this.” Zaheer Khan concluded.

With a difficult 200-run victory requirement, MI broke records to complete their innings in 16.3 overs and still have six wickets remaining. Left-handed batter Nehal Wadhera produced an outstanding performance by scoring 52 off just 34 balls. In total, Wadhera smacked three sixes and four boundaries in his quickfire half-century. In the 1st innings, RCB had performed admirably well to get to 199/6, in large part because of captain Faf du Plessis’ 65 (41b, 5×4, 3×6) and Glenn Maxwell’s 68 (33b, 8×4, 4×6).
