5-time IPL winning Captain with Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma and former 2-time IPL winning captain with Kolkata Knight Riders, Gautam Gambhir caught up with each other at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow ahead of today’s IPL clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians.

Both of them once shared the dressing room for the Indian national team and they played important parts during India’s success at the inaugural ICC T20 World cup 2007 in South Africa. Although they never played the IPL together but both Rohit and Gautam are forever embedded in the memory of IPL.

Yesterday on Twitter, Lucknow Super Giants posted a video of Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir exchanging hugs and having a laugh together with a caption which read – “𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘓𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘙𝘰𝘩𝘪𝘵.”

 

Unlike his interaction or altercation with Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir looked calm and happy to see his former team mate and likewise Rohit Sharma greeted him with a smile and a pat on Gambhir’s back. And this is all we want to see for a fact.

Yes, aggression is important but kindness and generosity is vital too and the mutual respect between Gambhir and Sharma is wholesome to watch. Later on MI also posted on Twitter a picture of the 2 with a caption of “7 IPL trophies as Captain in the frame.” 

If we talk about the match then it is going to very important for both MI and LSG. Both of them are playing their 13th match of the season and have a chance to solidify their Play-offs chances as a win guarantees the number 2 spot in IPL standings.

Mumbai Indians will have 16 points while LSG can go as much as 15 points if a victory is ensured tonight. Bowlers will definitely have their say in an Ekana pitch which is known for playing slow as the game goes on.
