Former Pakistani skipper and the right-hand explosive batter has recently made a statement, urging the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) to travel to Pakistan for the participation in Asia Cup. The Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Pakistan this year. According to old reports, Indian Cricket was prohibited to travel Pakistan by the board as the authorities do not want to risk the players’ lives.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah had earlier intimated that India will not travel to Pakistan, prompting calls for the Asia Cup to be held in a neutral country. In response, the Pakistan Cricket Board has reiterated their intention to host the event, failing which they will likely boycott the ODI World Cup in India.
"BCCI is a very strong board, but when you are strong, you have more responsibility. You don’t try to make more enemies, you need to make friends. When you make more friends, you become stronger," says Shahid Afridi.

However, amid all the buzz on the Asia Cup, Shahid Afridi has requested the BCCI and the Indian authorities to allow the Indian cricket team to visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup. According to the former explosive batter, such a measure would assure improved ties between the two nations and discourage those who desire disagreements to persist.
“As you gain more friends, you get stronger. “I still have friends in the Indian squad, and when we get together, we talk. The other day, I met Raina, and I asked for a bat, and he gave me a bat,” the 46-year-old remarked. Afridi revisited the memories from old events.
"This is not the generation of wars and fights. We want relationships to get better"

“In terms of security in Pakistan, we’ve had several international teams visit recently. We used to suffer security threats from India as well, but the tour would go on provided permission is granted by the governments of both countries. If the excursion is canceled, we will give those persons another chance. “All they want is there should be no cricket between them,” Shahid Afridi mentioned.
India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13, and India last visited Pakistan in 2008.
