Women’s cricket has grown significantly over the past few decades, with more and more countries recognizing and supporting the sport. Today, women’s cricket is played at both domestic and international levels, and there are several major tournaments and events that take place each year.

Delhi Capitals took part in team bidding and reserved a place in women’s premiere league. They bought the team at a huge amount of 810 crore. The JSW Group is a conglomerate in India that has interests in various sectors, including steel, energy, infrastructure, cement, and sports. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), the JSW Group is one of the co-owners of the Delhi Capitals franchise team.

The JSW Group acquired a 50% stake in the Delhi Daredevils team in 2018, which was later renamed Delhi Capitals in 2019. The other 50% stake is owned by the GMR Group. The JSW Group’s co-owner of Delhi Capitals is Parth Jindal, who is also the Director of JSW Cement, which is part of the JSW Group.

The team is full of star studded players like Meg lanning, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali verma. The costliest buys was Jemimah Rodrigues at 2.2 crore. Jemimah Rodrigues is a top-order batter who bats right-handed and occasionally keeps wicket.

Rodrigues made her international debut for India in February 2018, in a T20I against South Africa. She made an immediate impact in her debut series, scoring 37 off 27 balls in her first match and then following it up with a match-winning knock of 44 not out in the final game of the series.

Meg lanning is one the most successful women’s cricketer around the world.She is widely considered as one of the greatest women cricketers of all time. Lanning is a right-handed batsman and also a part-time right-arm medium bowler.

Lanning made her international debut for Australia in 2010 at the age of 18. Since then, she has been an integral part of the Australian women’s cricket team. She has played in all formats of the game – Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I).

Lanning holds the record for the highest individual score in Women’s Twenty20 International cricket – an unbeaten 133 off just 63 balls against England in 2017. She has also scored the most centuries in Women’s Twenty20 International cricket with 4 centuries to her name.

Apart from her international career, Lanning has also played in various domestic leagues around the world. She has represented teams like Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), Perth Scorchers in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL), and Surrey Stars in the Women’s Cricket Super League (WCSL). Playing in these leagues around the world will help In WPL.

Shafali verma hasn’t performed as team expected from her in the recent T20 world cup. Shafali verma will be focusing on, to make her reflexes more better for the Upcoming Womens premiere league.

Apart from shafali, uncapped players like minu mani,  Aparna mondal and Tara norris these young guns makes the team full fledged. Youngsters will seek opportunities and will try to perform their level best in Women’s Premier league.
