Sri Lanka Wins ODI Series Against Afghanistan

At Suriyawewa on Wednesday, Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan 2-1 by bowling them out for 116 runs and completing the mark in just 16 overs in the final ODI of the 3-match series. After losing the opening game of the series by six wickets, Sri Lanka made a strong comeback. The home team won the second game by 132 runs and went on to win the series by nine wickets. Since 2014, they hadn’t won a series after coming from behind.

After being sidelined for eight months due to an ankle injury, fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera returned with a leading 4-63 to win player of the third match and six wickets in two matches to win player of the series. He didn’t attend the first ODI.

In the third ODI, Mohammad Nabi (23) was Afghanistan’s top scorer, while Dimuth Karunaratne (56*) remained the highest scorer for Sri Lanka.
