Dushmantha Chameera Early Life
Dushmantha Chameera, also known as Pathira Vasan Dushmantha Chameera, is a Sri Lankan cricketer since his debut in 2015. The player started his domestic cricket in 2010 and in 2012, the player broke into the scene. He impressed the senior management and scouts at a great level and broke into the national team scenario.
Dushmantha Chameera Family:
There is very little information available on the player’s family life. However, the player recently married his long-time friend, Dilrukshi. The player has two siblings. He has a younger brother and a sister.
Dushmantha Chameera Domestic Career
The Sri Lankan fast bowler is a well-known name in the domestic circuit. After making it to the national team, the player has featured in Colombo’s squad in 2017/18. Super Four Provincial Tournament. He was also part of Galle’s squad in 2019 for the same tournament. Coming to the Indian Premier League, he has remained a part of Rajasthan Royals (2018) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (2021). The player was recently drafted by Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 auction.
Dushmantha Chameera International Career
The player started his career as a fast bowler against New Zealand in 2015. In his first game, the player took his first wicket in his first over itself. Ross Taylor was his first wicket and was followed by Grant Elliott in the same game. He was called up for the ICC World Cup 2015 in which Sri Lanka could not go all the way.
Dushmantha Chameera made his Test debut against Pakistan in the same year. Against Pakistan, he picked the wicket of Zulfiqar Babar and in the second innings, he took three wickets to help his side win the game.
2015 was a great year for the Sri Lankan fast bowler. He even made his T20I debut for Sri Lanka against West Indies. Following his consistent performances over three cricket seasons, he was awarded a national contract in 2018/19.
Dushmantha Chameera Horrific Injury
In 2016, the player had a stress fracture to his lower back and ruled for the longest time. However, the player has not suffered any horrific injury till date.
