Tuesday morning, Delhi won the toss and decided to bowl first. It appeared like their strategy worked well, as Mumbai lost all three of their best batsmen, including Prithvi Shaw (40 off 35 balls). As Yash Dhull was unable to play because of an illness, Himmat Singh led Delhi into their Group B Ranji Trophy encounter versus Mumbai. Dhruv Shorey, who has amassed the most runs in the competition thus far, was selected vice-captain on the day before the match.
In the beginning, Mumbai had Prithvi Shaw on fire and were 49/0 after 10 overs. But afterwards they lost three wickets in the subsequent ten, including Shaw. Early in their innings, Ajinkya Rahane and Sarfaraz Khan have also been questioned. 23 runs were allowed by Harshit Rana in his first four overs of play. Sarfaraz Khan took 26 balls to settle in the middle after Mumbai lost four wickets in the opening session. He then opened his hands for Mumbai’s maiden boundary.
