“Quarantine or Jail”- Furious Gautam Gambhir to the quarantine violators

As the country is suffering under the deleterious effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government is trying its level best to curb this odious problem urging people to strictly follow the quarantine rules, there still are a number of people who are not following it.

This has impelled a heated response from former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who spoke out on the quarantine transgressors. The cricketer-turned-politician on twitter said that citizens who are not following the government’s guidelines and carefreely are violating the quarantine rules may either choose to safeguard themselves or be locked in jail. 

The BJP MP asked people not to become a threat to society and put themselves or their families in danger by breaking the rules. He further pressed on the fact that everyone is fighting for their existence and it isn’t a battle for livelihood. He also requested everyone to support the people who are working throughout to provide us with necessary amenities and not cause any more trouble for them.

This reaction by the cricketer came in response to the mass celebration by citizens all over India in contradiction to the purpose of Janta Curfew. announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday, March 22, which further aggravated the risk of outspread of the coronavirus infection.

The upsurge in the number of COVID-19 has caused a lockdown of several cities for tackling the grueling task of containing the rapid spread of the virus.

The cases of Coronavirus in India has risen to 471, and 10 reported deaths. The state governments have also announced the lockdowns seeing the growing number of cases in the country.
