Alyssa Healy who starred for Australia in the T20 World Cup finals, turns 30 today

The award winner of the Player of the Match in the ICC T-20 tournament’s final, Australian women national team’s ace batter and wicket-keeper, Alyssa Healy turned 30 on March 24.

Alyssa Healy shined in the T-20 World Cup finals this year when she played a pivotal role in skyrocketing the Australian team’s total score of 184 runs before retiring in the 12th over by giving it an alacritous start, hitting 75 runs off of 39 balls. She smashed 7 fours and 5 sixes in the final knockout against India on 8 March 2020, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground which aided them in winning the Cup. India’s batting faltered in the second innings, as Australia won the match by 85 runs.

Alyssa scored the fastest fifty (50 runs in 30 balls) in that match, also becoming the first cricketer in the history of the ICC finals, and ensured that she impressed her fans and husband, cricketer Mitchell Starc. Starc had skipped his ODI match against South Africa and traveled to Melbourne to support his wife and cheer for her team while she was in action.

The star cricketer also holds the record of the highest catch of a cricket ball (82.5 m). She has also made a record of scoring the highest runs in Women’s T-20 International (148* off of 61 balls). She achieved the feat in the match against Sri Lanka in October 2019.

Healy made her international debut in February 2010 and since then has played a total of four Tests, 73 ODIs and 112 T-20s, scoring a total of 201, 1638 and 2060 in the matches respectively.
