Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday said that online fantasy sports platform is revolutionising sports by bringing fans closer to their favourite games.

“I see how fantasy sports is fueling sports consumption. It is very important. Online Fantasy sports is instrumental in revolutionising the manner in which sports enthusiasts engage with their respective favourite sports” Rijiju said at the FICCI 10th Global sports Summit in 2020.
It was followed by a conversation from Harsh Jain, CEO & Co-Founder , Dream 11 who talked about how fantasy sports are engaging fans where they have multiple choices and they can pick their favourite sports what they want to play 24 by 7 and on the hindsight these platforms are playing an important role in boosting the Indian economy in last few years to a great extent.
He also talked about the impact of fantasy sports in the Sports industry where he said that India is pretty big market with a billion sports fans so we cannot become only one sporting nation. It is simply a theory of mass and scale we are focusing on building a bottoms-up so we want to focus on other sports that have pockets of users and in India, the pockets will certainly include lakhs of people.
The reason why these Fantasy sports platforms have become successful in last few years as it is not just about choosing who will win or lose in a given match but will certainly give you variety to choose other aspects of particular game too.
