KKR Captain Nitish Rana “doesn’t care about people’s opinion” or does he not care about the best of his team?

KKR Captain Nitish Rana had a tough outing last night against Rajasthan Royals at their home by 9 wickets. The 2-time champions only made it difficult for themselves to qualify for this year’s play-offs as they remain 7th in the points table with 10 points.

And for a fact, they did not deserve to win either. They started off well while batting first but none of them were able to hold on to their guard and build the innings. Rajasthan Royals’ bowling unit had a wonderful time under the flood lights of Eden Gardens as Yuzvendra Chahal rocked up Kolkata with a spell of 4/25, becoming the all time highest wicket taker in IPL.

In the second innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal brought a nightmare upon the Knight Riders with his bat and became the fastest player to score a Fifty in IPL history. The 21-year-old would set the tone right from the first ball as he parked 2 continous sixes off captain Nitish Rana who thought the Batter could give his wicket to a Part-time spinner.

But Rana was wrong. Jaiswal’s vicious intentions led him towards another record in Indian Premier League. The latter smacked the most runs in the first over of an innings by hitting 26 runs before getting to a 12-ball Half-century. Jaiswal was also involved in a mix up with Jos Buttler for a single which eventually got the Englishman out.

However, he kept the ship sail across in the city of Joy and gave pain to Nitish Rana and his side by sealing the victory within the 14th over. After the match, Nitish Rana became a subject of criticism for choosing to bowl the very first over. Often Batters drive positive momentum as per how the first 6 balls go.

But Nitish Rana gave it all away and later stated that he actually doesn’t care what people say about him because at the end of the day he was just trying to execute a plan in front of someone who is not doing anything wrong this season.

“Jaiswal’s innings was praiseworthy. Today was one of those days in life when everything went in his favour. I thought 180 was par. We made a lot of mistakes with the bat and it’s the reason for losing out on two points,” Rana said after the match. Don’t care what the world says about me. I bowled first because I thought I could gamble as a part-timer and get the in-form Jaiswal out but it was his day.” – Nitish Rana said after the match.Â
