International Cricket Stadium all set to be built in Ganjari, Varanasi. Here’s the detail

The officials of the Board of Control Cricket For India (BCCI) on Tuesday inspected the land in Ganjari of Varanasi where the new international stadium will be built. The land for the stadium has been approved by BCCI secretary Jay Shah and Vice President Rajeev Shukla. The stadium will be designed like the Motera stadium of Ahmedabad. The foundation stone for the stadium is likely to be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The news of a new cricket stadium being built came to be known when BCCI secretary Jay Shah and Vice President and the technical team took a ground visit to proposed land in Ganjari on Tuesday. After keenly inspecting the land, a marathon meeting was organised to discuss design, structure and the budgeting of the stadium. According to reports, Rs. 400 crores will be spent on this whole project.

The stadium will have the seating availability of more than 30,000 for which 32 acres of land was acquired by the administration at the compensation rate of 121 crores. The design and the structure of the stadium is prepared to be that of international stadiums. The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated rupees 95 for the international cricket stadium in Varanasi’s Ganjari.

The BCCI will be involved in signing an agreement with Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association before giving green flag to the new stadium. The contract between BCCI and UPCA may be signed this week.

Board is aiming to make the new stadium world class by also allocating the work in its surrounding area. As per reports, the new stadium will be prepared for day-night matches as well. The public would witness world class infra and design. The stadium is likely to have four dressing rooms along with three practice grounds. In addition to this, special water absorbing technology would also be installed in the Ganjari Stadium.
