World Esports Update: EA to remove Russia and Belarus from Esports series

Electronic Arts who are touted as one of the biggest names in the video gaming industry have made a recent announcement regarding Russia and Belaraus and it came as no surprise that their Esports teams have been banned to compete in EA sports events for future.

One of the company officials said in the statement released on their website that they will be banning players from Russia, Belaraus to participate in the games like Apex of Legends Global series and the EA sports FIFA 22 global series.

Russia invasion on Ukraine has impacted their countrymen badly as several sports federations are banning Russian players to participate in different sports event.

The ban on Russian players was on the cards when it comes to EA who recently stopped the sales of their games, content and Virtual currency in Russia and Belaraus.

The “FIFA” publisher have also removed Russian Football teams from its popular videogame title “FIFA22”. Taking more about Electronic Arts Company, it is an American Video gaming company headquartered in California.

It was Founded in May 1982 by an Apple employee known as “Trip Hawkins” since then they have developed and published several games and also programmers responsible for its games as “Software artists”.

EA sports are known for developing games like Battlefield, Need for Speed, The Sims, Medal of Honor, Command and Conquer, Madden NFL, NBA Live, FIFA and EA cricket.

Along with having their headquarters based in California they also have their established studios in Orlando,Burnaby, Bucharest, Stocholm and Los Angeles.

Andrew Wilson has been named as the new CEO of the organization and they also have several Labels registered under their name which include EA Worldwide studios, EA sports, EA All play, EA Competitive division and SEED.

From 2010 onwards, the organisation is coping with criticism involving acquisitions of companies and alleged anti-consumerist practices in their gaming ecosystem.
