The match started with Shafali Verma, the Indian captain, opting to bowl first. The first innings of the match was filled with the magic of Parshavi Chopra. She dismantled the whole New Zealand batting line up and was the star bowler for the Indian team.

She recorded the figures of 4-1-20-3, which is exceptional in a T20I match that too a semi-final. She was well complemented by other bowlers as Team India’s captain Shafali Verma gave just 7 runs off her 4 overs and even took a crucial wicket.
