Virat Kohli praised MS Dhoni for supporting him in his tough times

Indian cricket fans are aware of the close relationship Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli have. However, what drives the partnership forward both on and off the field? On the first of the 10 episodes of the RCB Podcast Season 2, Kohli gave some insight into how his friendship with Dhoni functions. “I’m currently going through a different kind of career period. It has been a long since I experienced the same level of freedom while playing cricket at any level “on the RCB Season 2 Podcast said Virat Kohli.

Kohli has played for India in 106 Tests, 271 ODIs, and 115 T20 Internationals during the course of a 15-year career, scoring over 25000 runs internationally.

Apart from my childhood coach and my family, MS Dhoni has been the only one who has genuinely reached out to me at this moment. Because Anushka was by my side the entire time and carefully observed how I felt, what I went through, and the kinds of things that transpired, she has been my greatest source of support.

Dhoni and Kohli shared a dressing room for 11 years while they were both members of Team India between 2008 and 2019.

He contacted me despite the fact that you hardly ever spoke to him. He simply doesn’t glance at his phone, so if I contact him on any given day, he won’t pick up the phone 99 percent of the time. He has already contacted me twice, and in one of the messages he sent, he noted that “people tend to forget to ask how you are doing when you are expected to be tough and viewed as a strong individual.”

Virat Kohli has been the team’s captain since he joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008, and he will continue to hold that position through 2021.

On the podcast, Kohli discussed his friendship with Dhoni as well as his time leading RCB and India, transitioning from captaincy to a senior player role, and his passionate commitment to environmental preservation.
