India’s Star Cricketer Virat Kohli, is said to have recently bought a posh home property in Alibaug’s Awas Village. As Kohli was representing India in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, his brother Vikas took care of the paperwork on his behalf.

Kohli lavished an outrageous Rs 6 crore on the 2,000 square foot home in Avas Living and paid Rs 36 lakh in stamp duty alone for the property, which also has a 400 square foot swimming pool. The project’s interior design was done by Suzanne Khan, the actor Sanjay Khan’s daughter. It’s looks like a nice deal for Kohli to have even though 6 crore is not a huge sum for him to spend in.

“Awas’s natural beauty makes it a popular site. Awas is also five minutes from the Mandwa jetty, and the speed boats have recently cut the trip to Mumbai to 15 minutes. According to the reports ‘Alibaug’s average land values range from ₹3000 to ₹3,500 per sq ft, and the upper class frequents the city on weekends.’

A farmhouse in Alibaug was purchased by Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma for Rs 19.24 crore in September, last year. It is said that he paid Rs. 1.15 crore in stamp duty for that.

Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma and a teammate of Kohli, also has a stake in Alibaug; in 2021, he bought four acres of land in the village of Mhatroli.
