MS Dhoni all set to play his last IPL in 2023; Sources

Beginning on March 31, 2023, the IPL 2023 will include a match between Chennai Super Kings and the reigning champion Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.

According to statements made by CSK management, Dhoni will play his final IPL game during the current season, contrary to reports in other media publications.

Dhoni will play his final game against KKR on May 14, 2023, at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium if CSK does not advance to the playoffs.

Dhoni has frequently stated that he wants to finish his IPL career at Chepauk.

The fact that an accomplished wicketkeeper-batsman will play at this ground after 1467 days is intriguing.

Dhoni played in the IPL despite having previously announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020.

The management of the team would be aiming to name Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ben Stokes, and Ajinkya Rahane as the new captain when MS Dhoni retires.

Although the Three Lions are now being brilliantly led by Stokes in Test cricket, Stokes may be the finest pick to lead CSK in the approaching years based on experience and past performance.

In upcoming IPL seasons, CSK might find his experience useful.

IPL 2023 is all set to start from 31st  March 2023 will run till 28th May 2023 where 10 teams will be competing against each other for the coverted title.
