What does Steve Smith have to say about his injury?
Smith mentioned to Fox Cricket that he didn’t realize about the injury until he was on the field. While playing the game it was all normal for him, but once he finished the day, it was at night he saw that his wrist was a bit sore. Soon after that he had an injection of cortisone, only after that he was able to play the next game.
The time he came back to Australia he realized that he is not able to do some of the basic movements of his wrist. That is when he realized that he needed to get it checked by a Doctor. He got it scanned, and the report said that there is a small tear at the tendon. Due to this, it was necessary to rule him out of the South African Tour, so that he doesn’t go through any type of permanent damage.
Who else has been ruled out of the South African tour?
Among the senior players, Smith is not the only one who has been ruled out of the upcoming tour. Mitchell Starc is another player from the Australian team who has been ruled out of the South African tour. Starc was going through some Groin Soreness, because of which it has become very necessary for him to take a rest from the upcoming tour.
Now the best pacer and the best batter of Australia are not heading for the tour. This is definitely an advantage for the South African team.
