Ravi Shastri is an outspoken person be it on the field and off the field, he never shies away to express himself and his coaching stint with India in the last 7 years has been remarkable. Under his coaching, India registered Test series twice on Australian soil and also gave tough time to England in a five-match series and including current standing India is leading the series by 2-1 with the last match to be played next year.
In these last 7 years, India has also won the T20 International series in SENA countries( South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia). Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli have brought a fearless approach in Men in Blue where a lot of youngsters are playing brilliant cricket against top-quality opposition players and IPL has also helped in that regard.
As Shastri is no longer coach of India and Kohli no longer a T20 International captain, a new system will be redeveloped under new coach Rahul Dravid and new skipper Rohit Sharma they would be expecting to bring one Jinx of winning at least one ICC trophy.
Ravi Shastri also talked about India’s dismal performance in the pressure game against arch-rivals Pakistan and New Zealand where he stated that there should be a gap between IPL second leg and T20 World Cup as players were physically and mentally drained due to playing continuous cricket in last 6 months and the gap between 2nd leg of IPL and T20 world cup would have helped Indian players.
According to him, Men in Blue were unable to switch on in the pressure game against Pakistan as they were physically tired and added that BCCI should give rest to players ahead of the next world cup so that players are mentally fresh when it comes to competing in the marquee event.
