Padma Awards 2023 Sports Winners List: Veteran Cricket Coach Gurucharan Singh,Kalaripayattu master SRD Prasad and others honoured with this prestigious award

President Droupadi Murmu presented honors to various individuals during the 106th edition of the Padma Awards, which was successfully held in New Delhi.

Every notable personality who has done a bulk amount of work received recognition.

Sanathoiba Sharma, a coach of the game “Thang-Ta,” a game which is played with a sword and profanity, and veteran cricket coach Gurucharan Singh all received Padma awards for their significant contributions in their respective sports categories.

Age is just a number, as Gurucharan Singh, also known as Guruchi Paaji, who is 87 years old and still plays cricket, demonstrates in his life and in his love of the game.

He continues to practice at the Droncharya Cricket Academy in East Delhi, and according to his confidential sources, he is still considerably more physically fit than the majority of players that attend the academy for training.

Guruchi Paaji is a guy of few words who rides his bike to the stadium every morning at 8 o Clock, according to members of his family and unnamed individuals who spoke to several media sites.

The finest thing about him is that despite his advanced age, he hasn’t missed a single practise and has kept up this consistency for more than 40 years.

The sources went on to ask him, “Why don’t you take a break from cricket at this age?” Hpracticee often responds, “I am everything because of cricket and it has taught me to stay humble. Additionally, my passion for the game has helped me to go miles all over the world.”

It wasn’t easy for Guchi Sir because of his horrific past with the 1947 partition, his love of the game, and his story about the 1984 Delhi Sikh Riots.

Thirty years ago in SAI, he retired from competitive sports, but he is still quite active.

He spent his entire life learning and teaching the nuances of this well-known art form, which still requires marketing and awareness to flourish in India, and he received the Padma Award when he was 79 years old.
