The Hundred Draft : World No.1 ODI Batter Babar Azam and #2 World T20 Batter Mohammad Rizwan overlooked while Harmanpreet Kaur picked by Trent Rockets!

On Thursday, the teams for “The Hundred” tournament were decided, and several well-known players won multi-million dollar deals. The top picks in the draft for the 2023 season of The Hundred, England’s domestic limited-balls cricket competition, were English white-ball specialist Tom Abell and Australian short-format specialist Tim David.

Over 30 male players were selected in the Thursday night draught by eight teams, with Welsh Fire selecting Abell and Southern Brave selecting David again thanks to their Right-To-Match (RTM) card.

Welsh Fire greatly bolstered their squad by obtaining the services of Pakistan’s pace duo Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, as well as England all-rounder David Willey, after a winless 2022 season, when new coach Michael Hussey took over.

After the Vitality Blast group rounds, each team will be able to sign two more players as “wildcards,” in addition to any replacement players needed before the Hundred begins on August 1. By keeping as many as 10–11 players, the majority of the teams were able to keep the nucleus of their squads.

Top international stars like West Indies IPL legend Kieron Pollard, Trent Boult of New Zealand, and Pakistan captain Babar Azam remained unsigned, sometimes due to worries about their availability for the entire season. Domestic players were in high demand.

Being the top two run makers in the recently finished PSL with over 500 runs each, Babar and Rizwan were in incredible form. Both of the batters are one of the best batters in the world and are one of Pakistan’s highest ICC ranking players.

Babar Azam is currently the leading batter in ODI Cricket as he is holding on to his Number 1 spot with 887 points while Mohammad Rizwan is currently ICC #2 T20I batter after Surya Kumar Yadav but both of them have been overlooked in the upcoming Hundred ball.

Indian Women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was picked by Trent Rockets.
