Neha Goyal Personal Life

Neha Goyal’s hockey journey started when Neha was in fifth grade when she heard from her friend that she played hockey at the academy nearby, Neha can get new shoes and nice clothes to wear.

Neha Goyal’s interest in sports was zero when she started but the struggle of her family made what was beneficial at that point. She had a rough childhood as her family had no money to eat and father was an alcoholic and Neha and her three sisters depended on her mother’s income.

 

Neha Goyal Professional Life

At the age of 14, Indian women’s hockey player, Neha Goyal represented India in the Junior Asia Cup in 2011. In the same year, Neha also represented India at the U-21 Four-Nations Lal Bahadur Shastri women’s hockey event where with attacking playing style made her the player of the tournament.

Indian women’s hockey player, Neha Goyal made her debut in the senior Indian national team in 2014 and played her first match in the FIH Champions Challenge held in Glasgow. But unfortunately, the leg injury during the practice made Neha kept out of hockey for more than one year

Neha’s hard-fought back injury and her will to play for India were never low and finally, Neha was made into the team for the 2018 World Cup held in New Zealand.

Now a veteran, Neha Goyal is now an Olympian and made more than 100 appearances for the senior national team and now has the experience to guide the youngster in the team and will participate at the Commonwealth Games 2022 held in Birmingham.

Indian Hockey player, Neha Goyal’s childhood was “TOXIC” as grew up in a very poor family. Neha’s father was an alcoholic and died a few years back. Neha lives with her mother and two elder sisters. Her mother was the only earner of the family as he mother used to work as a daily wage worker in a cycle factory and made only 2000 rs per month.

Neha’s family has struggled to keep up with their three daughters’ education and had no money to buy hockey shoes and sticks for Neha’s hockey practice.

 

Neha Goyal Records and Achievements

Women’s hockey player, Neha Goyal at the 18th Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia clinched the silver medal.

Neha Goyal also won the Hockey India Ajit Pal Singh Award For Midfielder Of The Year in 2019.
