Amit Rohidas Early Life:
Amit Rohidas was born on 10th May 1993 in Saunamara village of Sundergarh disrtrict. He developed inclination towards playing Hockey at an early age later he joined Panposh Sports Hostel in Rourkela in 2004. With his consistent performance in domestic circuit he was selected in the junior team in 2009 and eventually he was selected in the senior national side for 2013 Asia Cup help at Ipoh.
Amit was member of bronze medal winning Hockey team in recently concluded Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Amit Rohidas Professional Life:
Amit Rohidas played a crucial role in his debut at the senior level where the team won silver medal under the leadership of Sardar Singh.
In Asia Cup tournament held in 2008, Rohidas with his brilliant drag flicking skills scored 7 goals was adjudged star player of the tournament.
He led India in the European Tour held from May 25th- June 5 in preparation to world cup which was held in 2013 in India.
Pre 2015, He wasn’t a regular member of the national side due to immense competition in defence but he always believed in his ability and due to which he is now one of the most important player for the national side.

Amit Rohidas came from humble background and hockey wasn’t a popular game in his community.
He joined Panposh Sports Hostel in Rourkela (2004) to furnish his hockey skills and initially used to play as forward but on the insistence of his coach Bijay Lakra he switched to defence because of his good physique and capacity to take load.
Amit Rohidas once wanted to become footballer due to his liking for Ronaldinho but later decided to pursue Hockey.
