Mohammad Amir Post-Retirement Plans:- Pakistan speedster has recently announced retirement from Test Cricket and if reports are to be believed, the 27-year-old fast bowler is planning to obtain a British Passport and settle down in the England.

Mohammad Amir has been married to a British national, Nargis Malik. The couple tied the knot in September 2016. It is understood that Amir is eligible for a spouse visa, which means he is allowed to stay in England for as many as 30 months.

The left-arm seamer has shown desires to permanently move to United Kingdom and is also planning to buy a house in England.

“He is clearly planning to obtain a British passport and permanently settle down in England in future,” a well-informed source said.

“With a spouse visa he can work freely and enjoy other benefits as a permanent resident of UK which is why he is planning to also purchase a house in England,” the source added.

As Amir regularly plays country cricket, Amir is eligible for the spouse visa despite being involved in the spot-fixing scandal.

Mohammad Amir, earlier, announced his retirement from Test Cricket on Friday. The Pakistan fast bowler wants to focus on only limited-overs cricket. Amir has played 36 tests for Pakistan, claiming 119 wickets at a phenomenal economy of 2.85. Amir made his debut in Test cricket as a 17-year old against Sri Lanka in 2009.

Amir’s decision to retire from the longest format didn’t go well with Pakistan’s former players like Wasim Akram, Shoaib Malik, and Ramiz Raza to name a few.

Shoaib Akhtar lashed out at Amir, saying that players like Amir, Wahab, and Hassan Ali only want to play T20 cricket and even avoid 50-overs cricket.

“I am disappointed and sad at his decision at this time. At 27 years of age he is at his peak and should been available for Pakistan in Test cricket,” Akhtar said.

“I fear we might also see others like Hassan Ali and Wahab Riaz would follow Amir in quitting test cricket.”
