Mohammad Amir More Expensive Than Shahid Afridi in ‘The Hundred’ draft

Mohammad Amir shall always be remembered for two aspects in world cricket. Firstly, for the spot-fixing scandal in 2010 and secondly for his fast and furious lethal bowling spells that rattles the best batters across the globe.

Recently, he bid adieu to Test cricket to focus on shorter format. He is a perfect fit for the intensity required in the shorter format and this is the reason he is named as the most expensive Pakistan player to feature in the “Hundred” draft leaving behind old Pakistan stalwarts like Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik and Wahab Riaz with a base price of 75,000.

The Gujjar born Amir has a reserve price of 100,000 pounds only behind superstars like Chris Gayle, Lasith Malinga, Kagiso Rabada, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc and David Warner, who enjoy the base price of 1,25,000.

A total of 35 Pakistan players will be the part of draft, but 18 of them will enter the draft with no base price that includes the likes of Iftekhar Ahmed, Kamran Akmal, Saif Badar, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Irfan, Junaid Khan, Adeel Malik, Sohaib Maqsood, Usama Mir, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Asad Shafiq, Yasir Shah, Ahmed Shehzad, Haris Sohail, Sohail Tanvir, Imam ul Haq and Aamir Yamin.

The Hundred League is set to start next year in 2020 with eight teams participating in the mega tournament. The eight-team names are London Spirit, Welsh Fire, Southern Brave, Birmingham Phoenix, Trent Rockets, Leeds Superchargers, Manchester Originals, and Oval Invincibles.

Every team will have its own men and women team in the league.
