Is Indian batting in T20 World Cup heavily relying on Virat Kohli and Surya Kumar Yadav?
India’s performance in the current T20 World Cup has been exceptional up to this point. They will play Zimbabwe next, a match they must win to improve their run rate and retake first place in Group 2, which would give them confidence going into the tournament’s final Top 4.
There are issues that India needs to address. For example, the team’s captain, Rohit Sharma, is out of sorts; in his last 11 T20I appearances, he has only scored one half-century. His batting partner, Kl Rahul, is also in poor form; after scoring 50 against Bangladesh in the most recent game, the question arises as to whether he will be able to keep up the same level of consistency in the upcoming matches.

Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav have carried the Indian batting throughout this major event, but the burden has been too much for them.

With 220 runs in 4 games and a respectable average, Kohli leads this tournament in runs scored. Based on his past performance, we expect him to do well in every game. Once he regains his consistency, there is no point in him looking back.

Suryakumar Yadav, another batter, is the eighth-highest run scorer of this prestigious event with 164 runs at a batting average of 54.66, but India needs to figure out how to stop relying so heavily on these two batsmen moving forward because the law of averages suggests that failure could be just around the corner.
Similar to Rohit Sharma, who scored five hundred at the 2019 World Cup’s league stage but failed against the Black Caps in the semifinals, India was eliminated from the premier event as a result.
It’s time for management to start explaining to other hitters in the team including the likes of Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Dinesh Karthik, about their role as batter in upcoming matches.
Every hitter must rise up and perform in the final 3 games if India is to win this cup, and captain Sharma must start hitting right away.
