Here’s why umpire changed the final score to hand Delhi the victory

Tamil Thalaivas vs Dabang Delhi result

Tamil Thalaivas vs Dabang Delhi result:- The ninth match of Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 7 between Tamil Thalaivas and Dabang Delhi went down to the wire, with the result being decided in the last second of the game.

Tamil Thalaivas held the lead in the first half, leading the match by 18-11, however, riding on Naveen Kumar’s brilliance, Dabang Delhi made a scintillating comeback and eventually won the match 30-29.

Dabang Delhi dominated the second half of the match, reducing the gap from 18-11 to 17-21 in just five minutes of second-half’s play.

With only three minutes left in the play, Delhi’s star of the match Naveen Kumar produced a successful raid sending Ajeet, Ran Singh, and Vineet Sharma out of play, which was followed by the catch of Ajay Thakur to inflict an all-out on Tamil Thalaivas, thereby, leveling the score 29 apiece

The last three minutes of play saw four empty raids and one unsuccessful raid as the match went into the do-or-die point with Naveen looking for one successful raid to win the match for his team.

Naveen couldn’t complete the raid as Thalaivas put in a brilliant tackle which saw Tamil Thalaivas’ fans in jubilation, but not for too long as the umpire gave a point each to both the sides, claiming that Manjeet Chilllar had stepped outside of the court and thus, both teams would share a point each.

Unhappy with the decision, Thalaivas asked for a review, but instead of getting the result in their favour, they lost a point as Dabang Delhi beat Tamil Thalaivas 30-29.

BUT WHY DID THEY LOSE A POINT?

Tamil Thalaivas defender Manjeet Chillar had stepped out of the court, which resulted in Thalaivas losing a point, but because he was involved in the tackle, amongst other team members, despite having stepped out, and thereby inactive, the tackle made by the Thalaivas was labelled unsuccessful.

While some argued that even before Chillar came in to takle Naveen, Dabang’s raider was well in the grasp of the Thalaivas defenders and that the tackle had been executed successfully, however, the rule says otherwise.

Nevertheless, given the value of that point, it will be a topic of debate amongst the experts to talk at length for the next couple of days.
