Ex-BCCI Selector picks Ravindra Jadeja as the best candidate for the vice captain of team India

The Indian cricket team is in doubt about a few things as the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia approaches. The inclusion of KL Rahul as the playing XI’s opener is the most notable. In the first two Test matches, the star batter only scored 38 runs. Venkatesh Prasad and other former players have questioned why Rahul has been given a long rope. Rahul’s status is in doubt as India looks for a third straight victory that would guarantee their spot in the World Test Championship final in June, despite having a best score of 23 in his last 10 Test innings.

In all this, Rahul, who served as the Indian team’s vice-captain for the first two Tests, is no longer in charge for the final two Tests. Saba Karim, a former BCCI selector, outlined the cause behind Rahul’s removal as vice captain.

He was demoted from vice captain because of his underwhelming performance. This does not imply that he won’t be included in the playing XI. This merely implies that when you perform well, you advance to vice captain. If the Indian squad had been losing, KL Rahul would have been dropped without hesitation. Rahul will have a few more opportunities, though, because the team is winning and the wickets are difficult to bat on, according to Saba Karim on India News Sports.

Karim responded to the question of who might take over as the Indian Test team’s vice-captain: “While selecting the following vice-captain, several things should be taken into consideration. Age and other factors because the man must captain India throughout the World Test Championship cycle. There are, in my opinion, only two candidates right now: Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. But Jadeja has a massive workload. After Pant’s mishap, the team management may be waiting for him to get healthy again.”
