Cristiano Ronaldo signs for Al-Nassr on a 2 year contract worth 200 Million Euros

Madeira, Manchester, Madrid, Turin, Manchester and now Saudi Arabia

After a disappointing end to FIFA World cup 2022 and an infamous exit from Manchester United, All-time international top goal scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo has penned a 2-year contract with Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr worth 200 Million Euros.

Ronaldo was linked to the Saudi outfit during the World cup itself. It was reported that the 37-year-old will not join Al-Nassr but the club has been able to successfully land one of the greatest of all times. Back in 2015, CR7 stated that he would want to retire from football at the highest level but unfortunately he had no suitors in Europe.

His relationship with Manchester United kept on degrading after rumors circulated that Ronaldo wants to leave the club due to their incompetency in European football. When Ronaldo headed back to Manchester from Juventus, everyone expected United’s fortunes would see a change but they eventually finished 7th in PL.

That season there were no doubts regarding Ronaldo’s form given the fact that he finished the season with 18 goals for the Red Devils. But he was seeking an exit after United failed to qualify for this year’s UEFA Champions League. He was linked to several English clubs most notably Chelsea, but a deal could never take place.

Once the season began, Ronaldo came under boiling hot water after appearing on Piers Morgan interview. He lashed out on United on a number of things about the condition of the club, which irritated Erik Ten Hag as well as the United management.

Moreover, his form dipped drastically as he found the back of the net only once in 10 Premier League appearances. In the World cup too, he was dropped by Fernando Santos, which he said was a tactical change. He scored only 1 goal in 5 WC matches as Portugal suffered a grueling loss against Morocco in the Quarter-finals.

But within just 2 weeks after the World cup, Al-Nassr have reached an agreement with Ronaldo and for the first time in his career, the 37-year-old will feature in the Asian circuit. The Portuguese international has a great opportunity to stage a comeback in the ending stages of his career if he helps Al-Nassr win the continental AFC Champions League title and the Saudi Pro League title.

Will he be a success at his new club?
