Will Morocco become the “Third best” team in FIFA World Cup 2022?

Before the FIFA World Cup 2022 Final takes place on Sunday at the Lusail Stadium, Semi-finalists Morocco and Croatia are all set to battle it out for the World cup Bronze Medal. Both the teams had an equal journey and game style in the tournament and tonight we will be getting the 3rd and 4th best team.

Morocco and Croatia faced each other earlier in the Group stages but the match ended goalless. Since then both the teams went on to win every game before qualifying for the Semi-finals. Alongside the playing style, they had a similar journey in the tournament as well as fate in the last 4.

Both of them had similar form in the attacking front and they lacked in ending the final product. But still on the basis of their defense, both of them reached the Semi-finals. Croatia ran the game mainly from the midfield with Luka Modric, Marcelo Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic.

From Morocco they also had hard working midfielders in the form of Amrabat, Ounahi, Boufal among others who were responsible for slowing the game down and increasing the tempo. While Croatia have never lost a match against an African side in three WC fixtures, Morocco have defeated teams like Belgium, Spain, Portugal and drew with Croatia.

Meanwhile, a European nation has been able to win the Third place play-off in the last 10 editions. It is indeed a history for Morocco – the first African nation to play in a third place play-off. If they win it will be history
