Cricket Australia set to resume the pre-season by the end of May

Cricket Australia is all set to start a pre-season later this month under a set of new training protocols devised keeping in mind the safety of players amid this coronavirus pandemic.

The report that was published in “Sydney Morning Herald” states that “Cricket Australia is looking to start the training under the medical supervision of doctors in which Dr John Orchard will take part along with Alex Kountouris who is the head of the sports science”.

The duo is working closely along with the Australian government as well as ICC for the resumption of sports.

However, CA’s top priority at the moment is to draw the protocol for players barring the use of saliva and sweat to shine the ball for movement.

Kountouris added that “Adequate social distancing will be followed in the nets as not more than 2 bowlers will bowl in the nets and batsman will be 22 yards away from the bowlers.

He further added that “As social distancing is very important under these circumstances so players need to find a new way to celebrate maybe through fist pump or simply rubbing the hair as well as huddle where the team rejuvenates and discuss the planning will be standing far from each other.”

He went on to add that “the celebrations need to be innovative until and unless we don’t find the vaccination”.
