Rishabh Pant shares a funny video of him working out with Yuzvendra Chahal in the gym

Team India will begin their preparation for this year’s T20 World Cup when they lock horns with the visiting Sri Lankans in a three-match T20I series, starting today in Guwahati. The three-match Twenty20 International series will give another chance to the team management to try a few more combinations to balance the side.

The Men in Blue have been involved in an intense training session, but under scanner wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took some time out to work in the gym alongside Team India’s strength-and-conditioning coach Nic Webb.

Pant posted a video in two parts on Twitter, where in the first part, he can be seen trading some serious blows with Nick Webb, while in the second part, Chahal is seen doing the same before Pant grabs Webb from behind and the duo hilariously beat Nic Webb.

Rishabh has been under the scanner for a while now, for not being able to deliver the results at the highest level. But he did make up for some of it in the West Indies ODI series. The youngster has got support from his teammates and support staff, who have been giving him a longer rope.

“We certainly believe in Rishabh’s ability,” said Kohli.

“It’s the player’s responsibility to do well, work hard,” the captain added.

“But I think it’s a collective responsibility of everyone around us as well to give that player some space to do that. If he misses a chance or something, people can’t shout ‘MS’ in the stadium. It’s not respectful because no player would like that to happen.”

Although Sri Lanka will not be too tough to beat, the series will be good preparation for India for the World T20. It is no secret that India is not a very strong T20I side and currently ranks fifth in the ICC rankings.
