After an 8-year hiatus, the Qatar Masters will take place this year, offering a massive $110,000 in prize money.
According to rumours from Chess24, the competition is set to take place from October 10 through 20, 2023. It will last nine rounds, and the winner will get a significant prize of $25,000.

Magnus Carlsen, who was declared the victor of the most recent edition of this major competition in 2015, confirmed his attendance.
One of the major tournaments and a member of the Association of Chess Professionals is the Qatar Masters.
The World Rapid and Blitz Championship was previously held in Qatar, however there were no active sponsors at the time, which made it difficult for the competition to continue over time.

“It is maybe not possible to have a perfect Open tournament, but with regard to the organisation, conditions for the players and accompanying persons, the strength of participants and weather conditions, the Qatar Masters is as close as it gets. I really look forward to returning to the Qatar Masters in 2023” said Carlsen while taking to Chess24.
In addition, more than 88 grandmasters have come from India, according to the chess ecology in that country.
