Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 : David Warner ruled out of final two tests against India

Due to a hairline fracture in their left elbow, Australia batsman David Warner will miss the final two Test matches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, according to Cricket Australia. Warner missed the second Test in New Delhi after suffering a concussion the previous week. Shortly before that blow, another rising pitch smacked the opening batter in the arm. The left-hander will be unable to play in the final two Test matches due to a hairline elbow fracture, as found by later x-rays. The southpaw, though, is anticipated to return for the ODI series later.

Before being replaced by Matthew Renshaw as a concussion replacement in the second Test, Warner struggled to get going in the first two games of the series, scoring just 26 runs in three innings.

David Warner will return home after being disqualified from the Qantas test series in India, according to a statement from Cricket Australia. “Warner suffered a hairline fracture after being hit on the elbow during the second Test in Delhi.

“After more evaluation, he will need a period of recuperation, which will bar him from participating in the remaining Test series.

The statement said, “It is now envisaged that he will return to India for the three One-Day Internationals that follow the Test Series.”

Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, who has already been sidelined for Australia, will also not be available for the final two Test matches. After suffering injuries in the first two games, all-rounders Cameron Green and speedster Mitchell Starc are anticipated to be included in the starting lineup for the Indore Test, which begins on March 1.
