Border-Gavaskar Trophy 202223 Australia Captain Pat Cummins flies back to Sydney for this reason!

After enduring two very cruel losses to India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022/23, Australia Captain has headed back home to Sydney with a week left for the 3rd Test at Indore. Pat Cummins has hurried back to his country because of some reportedly serious Family issue involving Illness.

The Baggy greens Coach Andrew McDonald also provided updates on the news and indicated that Cummins has really gone back and will be staying there for a while and he will also be a part of the plans virtually. Cricket Australia said in a statement that Cummins will be in Sydney for a few days but he will fly back to Indore in time before the match.

Andrew McDonald said in a statement : “Cummins has flown back home for personal reasons due to a serious family illness. He will return to India later this week to rejoin preparations for the 3rd test in Indore. We ask the media to respect his privacy.”

As we all know, the Indore test is a must win for the Aussies for their own pride. They will definitely look to avoid becoming a laughing material. In fact, Australian media bashed the National team following another 3rd day loss against India. The 1st Test at Nagpur looked rather one-sided than evenly fought as the Aussies lost by an Innings and 132 runs.

Later in the 2nd Test, India handed them another jolting loss after a day that started “in favor” of the visitors. India were bowled out for 262, and Australia started shaping the target with that 1-run lead. They had a decent start but Usman Khawaja became the first depart for 6 by Ravindra Jadeja, who picked 6 more later that day.

And with Ravi Ashwin on the other end, the spinning duo rocked the Aussie batting line-up. From 65/2, Pat Cummins’ side were all out for 113. Meaning, a target that was never going to give a hard time to the Indians.
