Big blow for Bcci as ,Tata is looking to call off from next season as Title sponsors

The WPL title sponsors Tata group is looking to walk off from the sponsorship after this season. Internally tata informed BCCI about this decision. The reason behind why Tata doesn’t want to continue is not clear yet. Talking to media a senior Bcci official said BCCI knows about this situation and Tata may leave the sponsorship after this season. But, they’ve made the deal this and we are looking forward to it. Numerous of companies are there who wants to invest in Woman premier league.

Tata made the deal with BCCI for two seasons after taking over the sponsorship deal from vivo. The deal ends this season and from next season IPL and WPL both will have a new sponsor. The inaugural match of WPL will be played on 4th march. The venues from the tournament are CCI and DY Patil.

Earlier, BCCI had signed a five-year deal with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2017 to be the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL), a popular Twenty20 cricket tournament in India. As per the deal, Vivo was supposed to pay approximately INR 2,200 crore to the BCCI over the five-year period from 2018 to 2022.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended its deal with Vivo, as the title sponsor for the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2020. The reason for the suspension was due to the ongoing border tensions between India and China, which led to a public backlash against Chinese products and companies in India.

The BCCI announced that it would be looking for a new sponsor for the IPL’s 2020 season, and eventually signed a deal with Dream11 as the title sponsor for the tournament. It was reported that Vivo would continue as the IPL’s title sponsor from 2021 to 2023, but BCCI changed his mind and gave sponsorship to Tata group.

It is important to note that the BCCIs decision to suspend its deal with Vivo was a political and commercial decision, and not related to any wrongdoing on the part of Vivo. The BCCI had to take into account the public sentiment and the geopolitical climate when making this decision.
