BCCI to review all the Chinese deals in an IPL governing council meeting that will be held soon

Indian Premier League Governing Council on Friday announced that they will have a meeting next week to review IPL’s various sponsorship deals.

This action will be taken in mind by IPL Governing Council especially due to tension at Indo-China Border at Galwan Valley where people of India are raising voice to boycott the Chinese Product especially after the cowardly act by Chinese Army.

Social media is filled with the news calling for BCCI to remove VIVO, Chinese phone manufacturer, as the Title sponsors of the Indian Premier League upcoming editions.

Taking note of the border skirmish that resulted in the martyrdom of our brave jawans, the IPL Governing Council has convened a meeting next week to review IPL’s various sponsorship deals,”.

However, BCCI has 5 year deal with Chinese phone manufacturer VIVO worth 2,199 crores who has been the title sponsor of IPL for 3 years and they pay approximately 440 crores each season to BCCI.

As BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal said that VIVO deals will continue as it will help the Indian economy as he said

“BCCI has created an infrastructure of thousands of crores in the country. If a Chinese company is earning money from the Indian consumer and paying it to the BCCI, which in turn is giving a 40 percent tax to the government, then I believe we are helping the Indian cause,”.

He further added that “If there is a directive from the government that no Chinese product or services will be allowed in the country, BCCI will be happy to adhere to it. But in the absence of any such order and if that money is being used in India, and for the betterment of Indian cricket, then I don’t see any issue with it.”

However, everything depends on the review meeting as what call Indian Premier League official will take once the meeting happens that whether VIVO will continue to be the title sponsor of IPL or will it get abandoned.
