At the national volleyball stadium in Dhaka on Monday, defending champions Bangladesh outplayed Poland by 50-22.

Regarding the game’s tempo, Poland maintained a firm lead with a score of 14-11 while Bangladesh lagged behind in the opening minutes.

Bangladesh later made a comeback in the game thanks to the brilliance of their captain Tuhin Tarafder’s great raid, which was complemented by other raiders. Even the defence chipped in with minor efforts to guarantee that they could maintain an advantage over the opposition.

With a rapid 36 points in their arsenal, Bangladesh produced an incredible comeback in the second half of the competition, which gave them the victory.

Twelve teams took part in the Opening Ceremonies of the tournament, which served as the start of the main event, and put on a spectacular dancing and singing display.

Mahmud Hasan, the Minister of Communication and Broadcasting for Bangladesh, attended the event as the chief guest to commemorate the 8-day premier Kabaddi competition.

Bangladesh has won the trophy on the last two occasions in the Bagabandhu Kabaddi Tournament, which is in its third iteration.

This prestigious event attracts a big number of European teams, which is an excellent method to broaden the game’s perspective.

Another group of fans is criticising the Bangabandhu Cup organisers for not allowing four teams, such as India, South Korea, Iran, and Pakistan, to take part in this competition.

As the absence of these nations from the competition would make the competition much easier for Bangladesh, as they don’t want them to lose the prestige of winning the title.

Even though Kabaddi is the national sport of Bangladesh, they haven’t won any significant gold medals or trophies, which makes it clear why their officials don’t want the Top 4 nations to compete so they can strengthen their position.

India and Iran have been absolute powerhouse in Kabaddi, they are always firm favorites whenever they step in any tournament.
