Junior World Kabaddi Championship 2023: India defeated Iran by 41-32 to win the title

Iran has successfully completed the second Junior World Kabaddi Championship, with India taking home the championship for the first time.

Due to personal obligations, they were unable to compete in the first event, which Iran won by defeating Kenya in the championship match.

The two favourites for this edition were Iran and India, and it turned out that way. India didn’t let Iran calm down, and in the end, it managed to defeat Iran with a score of 32-41.

Ankur Rathi, along with players like Narendra Kandola and Jai Bhagwan, who performed admirably throughout the final, helped India win this championship.

When considering the game’s overall tempo, the first half was evenly matched, with Iran winning 19-18.

India swiftly corrected their error and gained momentum in the second half, which ultimately enabled them to defeat their opponent by a score of 41–32.

India were spot on throughout the tournament, be it remaining undefeated throughout the campaign and attack was spot on throughout the tournament but their defence was not coming in handy but they eventually came out to party in the night of the final when it mattered the most.

A few players from each squad were given a green card for fighting and assaulting one another during the game between these two powerful teams in an effort to win the desired title.

Even Anup Kumar, who is usually the calmest of all, lost his temper, which is highly unusual for him.

With the breadth of talent Indian kabaddi players possess, India was a force to be reckoned with from the moment they landed in Iran.

India is undoubtedly one of the top players in the world, as evidenced by the fact that they won the championship in the second edition.
