Atletico Madrid close to signing Edinson Cavani

Atletico Madrid are leading the race to sign PSG’s prolific goalscorer, Edinson Cavani.

According to the outlet, Edinson Cavani is getting frustrated because of a lack of first-team minutes. The Uruguayan has started very few games this season for PSG and has more often come off the bench for the French club. Moreover, Diego Simeone, the Atleti manager wants to add one more striker to his ranks and believes that Edinson Cavani is the perfect man for him.

According to Marca, a deal has been struck with the player from the Spanish side which would run for two-and-a-half years with much left between the clubs. However, it might be difficult for the club to price out one of the best strikers from Parc des Princes.

With the signing of Mauro Icardi, the most prolific goalscorer of PSG has fallen out of favor and is itching for a move from Paris. Also, the player will be out of contract at the end of this summer. This makes the transfer deal much interesting.

However, the French outfit might not want to diminish their relations between the club and their most loyal servant who served the club for several years.

On the other hand, Atletico Madrid are watching the situation very keenly and are in a hurry to wrap up the deal. Signing the player of someone with a stature like Cavani would increase their attack drastically which consists of Alvaro Morata, Angel Correa and their record signing of 2019-20, Joao Felix.

Signing Cavani would not only sharpen the attack of RojiBlancos but also would give the boost to their La-Liga title chase. Also, Atletico Madrid can try to capture the most coveted Champions League trophy in the month of May if they could sign Cavani from Parc des Princes.

However, the Spanish outfit might have to shell out more money to Edinson Cavani as they have to balance their wage bill which has gone awry since the start of this season.

It would interest to see that would PSG sell the World-class player who will be a big asset in the final stages of multiple cups which PSG is fighting for in January.

The winter is coming!!!!!!
