Malmo ultras vandalise Zlatan’s statue…..again

In a recent set of events, the Swedish living football legend, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s statue has been vandalised once again. And this time, the nose of the statue has been sawed off.

The start to the vandalising of the Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s statue started when the player brought the stakes of the rival club which is based out of the Stockholm.  On the vandalised statue, the word “Judas” has been sprayed. The anger against the player is because of him investing in the rival club even though he started his career with the club based out at Malmo.

The statue of the player was created by Peter Linde and was opened to the public in October 2019. The player has a played football for around 20 years and has played for the legendary clubs like  Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Ajax, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

The statue was created in order to honour the player who has 62 goals in 116 international games for Sweden. However, the bad things with the statue started to happen when he brought the stakes of his rival club.  He brought the stakes of a club called Hammarby and went to say;

“Hammarby is a fantastic club with passionate supporters and is well respected in both Stockholm and Sweden,”
“I have always liked the club and its fans, and I’m also impressed with the club’s achievements over the last years, both on and off the pitch. To be part of and to assist Hammarby in its progress feels both fun and exciting”
However, the player mentioned regarding his commitment to play for the club. He stated that;
“I’ve said for 10 years that I’m not going to play football in the Allsvenskan. It’s not going to happen”
