The ongoing edition of cash-rich league has offered lots of interesting matches this year. Recently the clash between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab will certainly go down in the history of IPL as the most exciting game. Taking about the 36th match held between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in the ongoing edition of IPL 2020 which went for the super over as both teams were so good on the given day that the first Super Over ended in a tie resulting into another Super Over where Punjab held their nerve and defeated Mumbai Indians as they chased the score of 12 runs which was needed in 6 balls with the brilliance of Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal.

However 18th October 2020 will certainly go down in the history of IPL as fans witnessed three super overs being bowled on a single day. If you look at the points table barring few teams like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore who have secured top position till now in the halfway stage of the league whereas the other teams are making sure that they win as many matches as possible so that they can increase their chances of finishing in the top 4 of the points table once the league stage is completed.

As we know that T20 is always considered as batsman dominated game but the first super over conducted between Punjab and Mumbai saw brilliant bowling performances from two Indian speedsters Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami for their respective sides where Bumrah gave away only five runs in the first super over against Punjab followed by Shami replicating Bumrah’s bowling performance by giving equal runs in his over.

There was huge confusion in terms of rules which comes into existence in case first super over gets a tie. Let’s understand these rules in detail.

1. A player who has bowled in first super over will not bowl in the second super over.

2. A Batsman who was dismissed in the first super over will not bat in second super over.

3. If a batsman is padded up but didn’t came out to bat and also was not dismissed in the first super over they are eligible to bat in the
second super over.

4. If the super over gets tie there will be another super over until and unless a winner is declared.

5. All the batsman who were dismissed in the first Super Over can bat in the third Super Over in case the second Super Over gets tie.
