In other sports news from Asian Games 2023 Day 10, Narender (+92kg) earned a bronze medal by putting up a valiant effort against Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Kamshybek Kunkabayev of Kazakhstan, ultimately losing 0-5 in the semifinals. Earlier in the day, Sachin faced a 1-4 defeat against China’s Ping Lyu in the men’s 51-57 kg quarterfinal.
The Indian cricket team displayed resilience against Nepal on a challenging pitch, with Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring a fantastic century (100) and Rinku Singh contributing a late blitzkrieg (37*). In the field of archery, Indian athletes excelled in the Compound event, with Ojas Pravin Deotale and Abhishek Sharma setting up an all-Indian final in the men’s event. Jyothi Surekha Vennam also advanced to the women’s final.
